In my last post about Easter I mentioned Hudson and his mad egg-hunting skills. It was too cute and funny to just mention in passing.
So, as most of you know Hudson is an eating machine.
He watched the older kids from a distance finding the eggs, not too interested until.... Brody showed him that the eggs were filled with candy. Then the frenzy was on! Several eggs were down low and in plain sight for him to find. With each egg the excitement grew greater and greater. Each time he would find an egg he would scream "me find, me find!" Then he would crouch down and shake it to ensure his egg indeed had candy in it. It was the funniest thing. It was a combination of walking, shaking and a crazy celebratory dance.
Once the eggs were found, it was time to investigate the baskets. Payday! A Cadbury egg. Hudson went to town, trying to open it right away. I took this picture of his chubby little hands around the egg. I love it!
He took two fairly small bites of the egg and then shoved the rest of the egg in his mouth all at once. To my surprise none of it came out. He hammered down the entire thing! That is my boy. I can eat Cadbury eggs until I get sick, and then eat another.
I am pretty sure that Easter has just become Hudson's favorite holiday for sure. I think it is safe to say that any holiday centered around candy is a favorite of Hudson's. Maybe next year he will be able to grasp the real meaning of Easter-Christ. For now I am happy with him yelling "Jesus" every time we walk by a picture of Christ, or a man with a brown beard walks by. The last part is a little embarrassing in the middle of Target, but at least he isn't yelling something bad.
