A Dorky, Polka Dotted Thing of Beauty
I have a strange hobby...I collect vintage Pyrex mixing bowls. Laugh all you want, but I love it! When I cook in them I can't help but think of the people that had the bowls before me; and all the meals they made for their families. Each bowl has it's own history. I think it is so cool! I have finally completed my polka-dot set that was sold in the mid to late 60's.
I have had the blue.....
yellow....
for a while, but I finally got the
large green....
bowl in the mail yesterday!!! The green was is very hard to find because it was not part of the original set; but I found it and at a pretty great price too. About 1/2 of what I have seen it go for on EBay before. Yeah me!!!
Here is where they will stay, above my cupboards. I may use them for special occasions, but I like them safe and sound way, way out of the reach of little hands.
Here are some pictures of the ones I will be using everyday. They are an avocado green and white with flowers from the 70's. These bowls make me smile because my grandma had a set when I was growing up. I can remember her making tapioca pudding in them for me after school.

I don't collect Pyrex but this is a collection I really want. Julie has this one to. When I saw these the first time I just fell in love. I love polka dots and these are just way to cute.
Ooooooo, I LOVE those! What an awesome thing to collect! I have thought about getting the ones my mom had when I was little (she still has ONE left!). Very cool.
