Harper Family Hunting Trip 2010

Just as we do every October our family headed to Utah for our annual hunting trip.

We always have a great time playing in the mountains, and enjoying each others company. It is a rare time when the family can get together without the distractions of technology.

This year was a little different that in years past. My Uncle Bill came to Utah with us. It was a whole new experience for him. The best part was he must have been a good luck charm because Rex shot an elk Saturday morning.

It has been a few years since he has shot an elk so we were all really excited. It was a good sized spike that provided us quite a lot of meat. Our freezer died last year resulting in us losing all our meat, so it is really nice to have a freezer full of meat again!

Brody shot a squirrel this year with his BB gun and actually killed it. It is a family rule that we only kill what we eat. So....he gutted it, skinned it and ate it. He wasn't too thrilled with the gutting part, but he manned up and did it. I was very proud of him.
