Spring means a lot of different things on our family.
Sports
Brody plays baseball

Wyatt plays soccer

With all of practices we spend a ton of time at the park-or in the car if it's raining. Everyday day of the week except Sunday is filled with either a game or a practice. This gives me plenty of time to catch up on my reading-which I really appreciate.
The other thing Spring brings around here is:
Tulips

Every year we take a trip down to Woodburn-about an hour south to walk through the beautiful tulip fields

at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Garden. It is beautiful!

They have acres and acres of tulip fields. My mom used to take us there every year. This is the first time I have been back without her. We went as a family for my birthday yesterday and had a great time.
It always amazes me the different colors and types of tulips. I absolutely love them. Every year I am amazed by the vivid colors displayed. There are rows of

like colored tulip, and vast fields of a mixture. I try every year to get beautiful pictures of the kids in the fields, but each year something gets in the way. A few years ago, it was pouring down rain, the year after I got a few

pictures and then the batteries in my camera died. This year I took a few good pictures, but the wind was blowing so hard that all the pictures I took turned our a little funny. All of our hair is flying wild, and even though it was overcas

t, the sun would peek through the clouds at the exact time I was snapping a picture of the kids. Which turns into a squin

ty faced kid! Mom and dad too. I was hoping this year would be different with the new camera, but it wasn't. Weather anyways. I think the pictures tuned out well I absolutely love the pictures of the individual flowers. I plan to blow one up and put it up in my room. The trick is picking which one. They are all beautiful, and none of them really match the colors in my room!
So, needless to day if you are ever up here in the Spring

, we would love to have you, and take a trip to the Tulip Festival!
I love the Spring! Bring on the rain soaked practices, the muddy butts and shoes that are brought into my car every day, the unpredictable weather and even my birthday-which is losing it's appeal the older I get(even though my awesome husband did get me a beautiful necklace and COACH shoes this year). This weekend is General Conference, so Spring has officially Sprung!
