Is there a support group for people addicted to trashy, ugly, nasty old beater cars?
If there is my husband needs to join this group.
When you are in a 12 step program you are suppose to "identify" by saying
"My name is ___ I am a _____."
This is what Rex would say:
"My name is Rex, and I am a crappy car addict"

Here is why:
Rex has a beautiful, brand new Chevy 4 door truck

He loves it. It is loaded with every option available. But.....it gets awful gas mileage. Rex works 30 miles from out house, so a 60 mile commute at 12 miles a gallon gets costly.

Solution.....

A 1982 Datsun pick-up. It is going to get something like 25-30 miles to the gallon. That actually makes sense, and I get that, but here is the question?

Which truck does he like more?

It is so funny to me that Rex finds so much pleasure in cleaning up nasty old cars.

I love his meticulousness. My A.D.D kicks in about 10 minutes into any tedious task.
He finds so much joy tinkering and tweaking.
I love that he doesn't have to have the most expensive car, or prove to people that he is successful. All that matters to him is that he is happy.
I dig that about Rex!
There is no pretentiousness. He is just as happy in a 1982 Datsun as he is in a brand new Chevy.

Rex is awesome! He cracks me up. He is just like my dad in that crappy car way. My dad is a mechanic in his spare time and is always fixing up some old crappy car! But he loves it!!! And when anybody says anything about what other people think his exact words are, "I dont give a damn what people think." I LOVE it!!!
